Force brings John Abraham back in limelight

Response: John Abraham’s back in the limelight with his latest film Force, which registered a first week revenue of Rs 16 crore in India, and if global earnings are taken into account, it will be over Rs 21 crore. In fact, Force is John Abraham’s biggest opening ever.

Occupancy rates for Force are pretty mind blowing with average opening occupancy in single-screen theatres being around 80 per cent but in multiplexes this has come down to around 50 per cent on an average.

John Abraham in Force
The reviews of Force are pretty impressive, and this, we think could help the film sustain its response (and earnings) at least for a week or two. Overall, the film has been a hit.

Film type: Action

Cast: John Abraham, Genelia D’souza and Vidyut Jamwal

Director: Nishikant Kamat

Time of movie: Two hours 15 minutes

Story: In Force, John Abraham is Yashvardhan, a dare-devil cop, who works in the narcotics department. He is an honest officer who always tries to ensure that justice is done.

While trying to break into the country’s drug mafia, he bumps into a dangerous enemy who is craving for Yashvardhan’s head because he and his narcotics department have caused massive financial loss to the drug mafia.

In the meantime, Yashvardhan meets Maya (played by Genelia) and falls in love. Now, Yashvardhan has a difficult choice: going on with his love life or vanquishing the drug mafia who is after him.

Yashvardhan is caught between his love life and his job and Force portrays how he emerges victorious in his love life as well as his job.

Review: Action films are back in vogue and only a few can deliver the goods like Bollywood hunk John Abraham. His role in Dhoom had made him a star in a day and his physique in Force gives him a fillip.

Force has all the elements to make the movie a perfect masala film. Romance, deceit, revenge and retro-style masala of the 1970s make it a perfect film to watch.

It goes without saying that the John Abraham-factor has given a huge succour to Force, prompting many cinema lovers (and of course John’s fans) to flock for Force but Genelia fails to keep up the tempo and is a tad disappointing.

Even though the plot of Force is the usual one and there is nothing new, director Nishikant Kamat manages to keep you totally engrossed.

The stunts undertaken by John are mind blowing and may be compared with Salman Khan’s Dabangg.

This remake of Tamil film Kaakha Kaakha delivers the goods and will surely be a paisa wasool film. So, go and watch Force if you don’t want to miss the breath taking action of hunk John Abraham.

Rating: 4/5
