iBerry Auxus Linea L1 and Auxus AX04 have no brand value

Local handset manufacturers are on a launching spree with iBerry rolling out two new dual-SIM devices that come with a 4.5-inch display and comprise a smartphone along with a seven-inch tablet – the Auxus Linea L1 and the Auxus AX04 – but the company has no brand value.

The smartphone, christened Auxus Linea L1, carries a price tag of Rs 6,990 while the Auxus AX04 tablet comes for Rs 5,990. Both the smartphones run on Android 4.4 KitKat update and will be sold via eBay India portal from this month itself.

Both devices come with Wireless Display support but only Auxus AX04 allows OTG support.

The Linea L1 is propelled by a quad-core 1.3 GHz MediaTek MT6582 mobile processor with 1 GB of RAM. The micro SD card can accommodate up to 64 GB micro SD card.

The new Auxus Linea L1 is a judiciously priced smartphone coming with 4.5-inch display, which is made using One Glass Solution Full Lumination.

This handset has a 5 megapixel camera at the rear along with a 2 megapixel camera in the front. The handset comes with a pretty powerful 2,000 mAh battery and supports dual-SIM configuration.

The new Auxus AX04 is a dual-SIM tablet which comes with voice calling support. The AX04 offers a seven-inch display and is propelled by dual-core 1.5 GHz mobile chipset with 512 MB of RAM.

Voice calling is only available on 2G networks. This is a big dampener. The memory card can accommodate up to 64 GB micro SD card.

Auxus AX04 has a 2 megapixel camera at the back and a VGA camera in the front. This tablet is propelled by a powerful 3,000 mAh battery.

So, would an unknown local brand, iBerry, with some dirt cheap and high-end smartphones (Auxus Linea L1 and Auxus AX04) but no brand name do well in the Indian market, crowded already by a litany of branded phones with moderate pricing?
