Micromax Canvas Turbo Mini (A200) and Bolt A71 do not have price advantage

Micromax has at last unveiled the Canvas Turbo Mini (A200), which is up in the company’s portal but the pricing and some other details have not been given yet and it is not slated to have price advantage over most Samsung Galaxy smartphones but the Bolt A71 isn’t a bolt from the blue.

The Canvas Turbo Mini was also earlier listed on FlipKart for Rs 14,500 even though the smartphone roll out was yet to be announced by the handset maker.

The Canvas Turbo Mini is offered with a 4.7-inch (720x1280 pixels) HD IPS display and is propelled by a 1.3 GHz quad-core MediaTek MT6582 processor with 1 GB RAM.

The Micromax Canvas Turbo Mini (A200) comes with a dual-SIM (both GSM) device, which operates on Android 4.2 Jelly Bean out-of-the-box. According to the company, the handset comes with one regular SIM and a micro-SIM.

The Canvas Turbo Mini offers 4 GB of built-in storage, which can be expanded up to 32 GB via microSD card and comes with an 8-megapixel rear camera with LED flash. There is a secondary 5-megapixel front-facing camera also.

So far as connectivity goes, the Canvas Turbo Mini comes with 3G, Wi-Fi, Micro-USB and Bluetooth. The Micromax Canvas Turbo Mini has a 1,800 mAh battery, which according to the company, can offer up to 6.5 hours of talktime and 180 hours of standby time on a 2G network.

The Canvas Turbo Mini has with it some preloaded apps like Games (Bubble X Slice and Catch a Mouse), Kingsoft, Hike, Opera Mini and M! Live.

The Micromax Canvas Turbo Mini is the smaller version of the company’s first HD display smartphone, the Canvas Turbo, which was rolled out about three months earlier.

The Bolt  A71

The Bolt A71 is an entry-level device and comes cheap at Rs 6,750. It is offered with a five-inch display with 480x800 resolution.

The A71 is propelled by a 1 GHz ARM Cortex-A5 processor with 512 MB RAM and supports dual-SIM functionality. There is also support for 3G, Wi-Fi as well as Bluetooth.

Some other features are a 2 MP rear camera, 0.3 MP front-facing camera, only 512 MB on-board storage as well as 32 GB expandable memory. Considering the specs, the handset may be a tad slow on applications compared to Samsung Galaxy phones at this price.

So, the Canvas Turbo Mini (A200) and the Bolt A71 do not seem to be judiciously priced so far as the specs go and may see a feeble response unlike earlier Micromax handsets, which saw commendable sales.
