Lamborghini Huracan comes for Rs 3.5 crore ahead of a boom in auto market

India is finally developing an appetite for super luxury sports cars and this is prompting sport car icons like Lamborghini to bring in the Huracan but at an astronomical price of Rs 3.5 crore in view of a perceived boom in the country’s auto market.

The Lamborghini Huracan is propelled by a 5.2-litre, so called naturally aspirated V10 engine, which belts out 618 PS peak power at 8,250 rpm and comes with a peak torque of 560 Nm. The engine is mated to a seven-speed dual-clutch transmission, which is a first in a Lamborghini and would be exciting for speed kings.

The Lamborghini Huracan.
The Italian luxury sports car maker said that the Huracan can go from 0 to 100 km per hour at a mind blowing 3.2 seconds and achieve 200 km per hour in less than 10 seconds. A pure breed sports car indeed! It has a top speed of more than 325 km per hour.

The Lamborghini Huracan is available with all-wheel drive although it is lighter and more powerful. Rear wheel drive versions could be rolled out next year.

The Huracan was displayed at the Geneva Motor Show, which was held in the middle of last year, and has received a phenomenal response since then. It is believed to have notched 700 bookings in less than a month since its unveiling.

The luxury car could be rolled out in the country in around four-six months, and Indian car buffs in the luxury category are already waiting with baited breath for the Huracan’s roll out. Lamborghini is an iconic brand and the Huracan would surely make a big mark in the supercar category of the country.

Dealers have received an overwhelming response from car buffs, with most of them recording over bookings. After all, for car enthusiasts, owning a legendary Lamborghini is a dream.

The Lamborghini Huracan will vie with the likes of the Porsche 911, the Audi R8 V10 and the Ferrari 458.

With the Narendra Modi government showing a pro-industry stance, it is likely that the car industry could see a revival in the middle term (say about five years) and this may also set the stage for a phenomenal growth in India's luxury sports car industry giving the Lamborghini Huracan a place in the country's car market.
