Shiney Ahuja’s maid wasn’t raped?

The Shiney Ahuja rape episode could apparently be another clear case of influencing the witness (victim in this case) after the maid who alleged the actor had raped her did an about turn saying that she was actually not raped.

The victim said she had lodged a complaint against the actor under the influence of a woman who had got her a job at Shiney’s residence. Around June last year, the maid alleged that the actor had raped her at his residence, sending a chill down Bollywood’s spine.

Shiney Ahuja was charged with the crime and police had filed a chargesheet against him. The Mumbai police had charged the actor with rape and wrongfully confining the victim. Shiney Ahuja’s wife Anupam had been constantly pleading his innocence.

On the professional front, the issue has taken a big toll on Shiney. In the latest blow, it is believed that the release of Shiney’s film Har Pall with Preity Zinta in the lead female role has been postponed until the court verdict.

It is being strongly felt that audiences will reject Shiney’s film as he still hasn’t been pronounced free of the charges of raping his domestic help. Shiney’s brand name has been rocked and only his innocence can lead to his revival, feels a film buff.

The actor has been shortlisted for the next season of Big Boss and it is being felt it could help him win back his disgruntled fans.

But reports and probe conducted after the incident proved it to be a clear case of rape. So, now even if the victim retracts (probably under the influence of money), should the court allow Shiney to go scot free. If that is the case, the Shiney Ahuja rape case will give another debilitating blow to the justice delivery system in India.
