Micromax A27 Ninja: No price advantage this time

Micromax is on a launching spree of its Android series phones, and the latest in the series is the A27 Ninja, which does not seem to come with a price advantage tag like other Micromax handsets.

The Ninja handset is available for less than Rs 3,500 and online retailers can offer it for a bargain.

The Micromax A27 Ninja.
The Micromax A27 Ninja has a 3.5-inch (480x320 pixels) capacitive touch display and operates on the Android 2.3 Gingerbread.

It comes with a VGA rear fixed focus camera along with FM Radio.

The A27 Ninja is powered by a 1 GHz Spreadtrum SC 6820 processor, which comes with 256 MB RAM.

It is available with 160 MB internal storage which can be expanded to 16 GB with the help of a microSD card.

The dual-SIM device comes with a 1,400 mAh battery (which offers almost five hours of talk time) and connectivity options in the handset are the Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g, 2G (EDGE), Bluetooth 2.1 and Micro-USB.

Unfortunately, Micromax does not have 3G support for the A27 Ninja and users will have to be satisfied with just EDGE connectivity.

The Micromax A27 Ninja is available with a Swipe ‘n’ share feature, which is unique and allows a user to share apps, games, photos, videos and songs, among others, with the help of other Android devices by just doing a swipe.

Micromax has managed to keep pace with the growth in the cellphone industry despite being a homegrown brand and recently it was on a roll-out binge, launching handsets like the A30 Smarty 3.0 dual-SIM Android phone for Rs 3,849 and the A65 Smarty dual-SIM Android device for Rs 4,999.

The company is also planning to roll out the A89 Ninja but the handset maker has kept the price under wraps. Earlier, the company had also rolled out the A25 for Rs 3,600 and A68 for Rs 6,500.

The Ninja A27 does not offer 3G connectivity and the camera isn’t a great one. So, the phone is almost a basic handset with just a VGA camera.

Despite this, Micromax has priced the handset at Rs 3,500, which is high compared to other budget phones of the company.

So, with no price advantage this time, Micromax may find it a tad difficult in witnessing roaring sales for its A27 Ninja.
